The search screen is not working for me(keep getting reload message)so that is why I am posting this question here. What size(dia and length)are the carb bowl screws for the TA. I thought I would try to find em locally before ordering em on line. Thank you for answering this question for the ten thousand's time.Al

Here you go Al (I threw in the cover bolt dimensions as a bonus! ):

Carb bolts:
M4 x 14 quantity = 8
M4 x 8 quantity = 8
M4 Washer quantity = 16

Engine covers and sprocket cover bolts:
M6 x 75 quantity = 5
M6 x 50 quantity = 15
M6 x 45 quantity = 2
M6 x 40 quantity = 8
M6 x 30 quantity = 7
M6 Washer quantity = 37
(Replace one bolt at a time (matching size) and torque to 9NM)

Hi Al,
Go ahead and order them from Brent . They'll get there faster than you can ride to the hardware store and back.

Skillit,I do not mind the price on the screws, but all the shipping cost are gonna kill me.I saw this happen when I restored my Corvette.Shipping/handling added up to quite a bit of money when I got done.I got three orders in for stuff right now for Nora II,and shipping has added up to almost thirty dollars so far.So if I can get some of the stuff here in town I am gonna try. Al

Get me 2, and a couple M10X1.25 nuts, nylock would be great, but regular is fine. Coincidentally, my new mirrors have the same size stems.... My main thing is either stainless or chrome, preferably stainless. Thanks!!!!!

BB, I went to Ace Hardware and boy do they have a nice N&B section. I looked for some time, and could not find anything in 10mm-1.25. Everything was 10mm-1.50.The only thing I saw in 1.25 was 8mm.Are you sure you are looking for 10mm-1.25? Sorry I could not help. Al

So folks here is the deal with the carb bowl screws. I used a brand new #2 phillips driver bit in a 1/4" ratchet, with the proper socket to hold the driver bit, that fit the screws like a glove, with absolutly no slippage what so ever. I did not have one single screw head misform.I could have reused the screws without any problem.I went ahead and put the allen socket head screws in that I bought at one of our local hardware chain stores. They were the black colored type and look pretty good on the carbs.I will throw the removed screws in my spare kit for the road.Anyway, the Phillips #2 screw driver bits are the same ones that the dry wall guys use in their driver guns to install sheet rock screws. They have a serrated grip tip,and are very hard,as well as fitting the screws like they were made together. You can find em in a package of 3/6/12 etc.. at your local hardware chain. If you still have the original screws in the carb bowls this is the way to remove them safely. Al

Thanks for lookin Al. I'll start calling some places and see about getting something mailed to me...

By the way, yes I'm sure it's M10... That's why it's so hard to find If you look at those bolt or nut identifier things they have at the Depot or Lowes, there are 3 pitches for M10, 1.25 being the middle one... Very random.

I ordered SS screws for the engine. Already had the carb kit from Brent. When I ordered, they didn't have M6x75 but only M6x80. Do you think these will still work or will I need to grind them down? Also, I will have some extra when I am done. I'll post what I end up with at the end and see if anybody wants to work a deal out for what I have left.

5mm is the difference and this is 3/16". I supposed if they do not bottom out, you'd be fine. Take it slow and if you meet any resistance when they get close, you probably are bottoming...
