AMEN!!! That just about sums it up!

Uh ha! Yep. I hear ya, Phil. And I'd like a bag full o' Twenties left on my doorstep each morning too!
I say this only because...first, this new 1500cc Triumph will basically be a "cruiser", and that type of motorcycle isn't ever going to be designed with weight-saving as a priority.(people who buy cruisers usually like the "massiveness" of their looks)
Secondly, our "little" 790 and 865cc BAs and Speedmasters are already 497lbs(and that's "dry-weight" BTW, which already makes them one of the lightest cruisers on the present market), and so to imagine a machine with almost twice the displacement as our BAs and Speedies ever hitting the showrooms and being almost 50 lighter is, well, a nice dream anyway.
(BTW...welcome to the site)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
