Now I'm jonesing for a sport tourer to add to the garage. What are your opinions on the best sport touring bikes out there?

Seems like a lot of that going around.
Been doing a bit of research on this very subject lately but tried to keep it water cooled, shaft driven, long legs (gas) and a price point that pretty much took out newer used R12RTs.

The COGs are crazy! But they love that bike! A coworker has one and I spent just a few miles on it. The 'buzz' is something everyone has an opinion about... except the COGs who will tell you there is no buzz. To me it felt like it buzzes (a performance UJM buzz) and the wheelbase was short enough that you had to stay with the bike to keep it tracking... not just super stable like I would expect. But it will knock down some mountain roads! Plenty of used ones with low/mid/high mileage at excellent prices.

The FJRs and STs are comparable machines. All the tests talk about the FJRs heat issue, but go to the ST forums and THEY talk about heat like we talk about oil!

Used FJRs and STs hold their value. I've seen used STs with up to 90k miles going for around $3k. Haven't looked at FJRs much as my research led to the choice for me, if I get one, to be a relatively recent ST. I love that 7.7 gallons!
