Inspired by other recent threads....
How many of y'all have had the chain guard break? Doesn't this seem to be a recurring problem Triumph need to be made aware of?

2 chrome pieces of junk for me. my last one started eating my tire like the story in 'the lounge'. it happens very fast!! i've gone back to black!

I had 2 and that was enough for me... Luckily never had contact with the tire or chain.
I heard a strange noise at low speed and noticed it was broken. I took it off right there and threw it away.
I like the look of no chain guard... Especially in light of the danger they present.

Oh yeah, lost the gaurd(chrome one !!), a hole in the fender and a 2 month old tire shredded....at 70 MPH!!

I have the black one and the rear mouting cracked. I cut off the broken area and drilled another hole before putting back on. No probs since
Staintune Pipes, K&N Pods, 45 pilots, TBS needles and 145 mains.

My black one broke and started rubbing on the chain. I have welded it up but am now considering taking it off. Given the potential of what has and could happen I think a recall is definately in order.

After market chrome one broke (fatigued) immediately above the rear fastener last summer following 3 years of use. I heard the "dinging" sound before an Ezcue style calamity  Replaced with the stocker one. jh

Black one, 18mths ago... rear bolt hangin on by a couple of threads, front snapped off at bolt hole with bolt and remainder of guard still attached to swingarm... Think i'll remove the lot...

2 broken. first replaced under waranty. second out of waranty and ended up in the weeds.

Mine broke at the back bracket. I heard it clanging, so I took it off, before it did any damage. I run without one now.

My chrome chain guard broke about 3 years ago. Luckily I heard it bouncing around when I hit some bumps in the road before it did any damage. I had my buddy do a weld job on it and reinforce the mount. It’s held up ever since.

Yep mine broke to at the back tag got it welded up with a double thickness at the tag haven't had any problems since

It probably wouldn't hurt to add info about whether the broken guards were black, chrome (factory), or chrome (aftermarket). Even without it that's a sizeable figure in 9 days or responses from the limited number of people who've been online in that time.

Original broke at around 12,000 ks, took out my back tyre, has anyone bought this up with Triumph (Hinkley) UK??

Blast had a chrome one break on his Speedy. traded in the bike on a beamer. Everything was fixed under warranty.

I don’t know but I think I’ve been jinxed by all the talk about the chrome chain guards breaking. Mine originally broke about 3 years ago and I had a friend weld the broken piece back on and reinforce it a bit. It’s held up nicely since then that is until yesterday. On my way home last night I hit a dip in the road and heard some clanging from the rear end. When I got home I checked out the rear and found the chain guard broke again just below the reinforced area on the back mount. Oh well, I guess it’s back to the original black one again until I can get it welded again… Gene
