What is so different about the Triumph chrome chain guards? I have read a number of posts about the chrome guards breaking or coming off. I have never heard of anyone's stock part breaking.
Really glad you are OK. The bike came out OK as well, by your keeping it upright. Although it may not seem so initially, you were very lucky.
