Quote: The mindset that they are selling a "Lifestyle" NOT a product!!!
Well Dwight...that is crafty marketing on HD's part, and although I initially bought a product (not a lifestyle)...a new lifestyle came along with the bike. Kinda like a buy one, get one deal. Granted I'm no dentist who hangs out at biker bars trying to grasp the lifestyle (well...I do go to biker night at a bar in Tribeca, but if you saw the girls that hang out there, you'd be there too!).
All the sudden, I think nothing of riding 1000 miles to GA to hang out with people I see 2 or 3 times a year. We squeeze 2 bikes on the back of a little chevy pickup in the middle of January and drive 16 or 18 or however many hours to FL without stopping besides fuel for the same reason. Would I have thought about doing that before owning my bike? Probably not.
So I dig the fact that I indirectly bought a lifestyle along with my product.
