That little piece of marketing wonder is going to cost them big time.

How many pre-bike owners do not even know that Triumph is back in the US market anyone of these guys are going to starting thinking maybe I should check this out frist before I buy that Harley.

Now...that IS funny!!!

My only question is....When did Honda start making Flat-6 TWO-STROKE powered Gold Wings, anyway?

Isn't THAT how it would sound? Kind'a like two Kawasaki MachIIIs bolted together, maybe?!)

Because it's as easy as bashing NASCAR? Well they do have some things in common.

1. They both offer boring rides with antiquated technology.

2. Harleys can't turn in the twisties, NASCAR can only turn left.

3. They both are products of marketing more than the performance of the product.

4. They both have rabid fans that like to spit on the competition...Harley vs Ricers, JR fans vs Gordon and Toyota.

5. Both NASCAR fans and Harley riders are seen as blind faith loyalists, ignorant about the inferiority of the product.

6. And after today, it's like hearing Yoko has married Paul, with their beloved Dale Jr racing for Hendrick next year. JR a teammate of Jeff Gordon? It's just too much for many of them to handle.

Sure it sounds funny, but how do you think you would sound it you were blowing a harley out of your exhaust.

It's sacrilegious to put Honda and harley in the same sentence.

1. Because you wish you had one
2. Because for some reason they make you feel small
3. Because as a dork in school, you realize as an older dork you are still a dork.
4. Because you bought what you ride for all the wrong reasons meaning every reason but "ride your own ride"
5. Ridicule is the last resort of the jealous

Ask a better question. Why don't Harley riders ridicule Triumph riders? Because they are secure in what they ride and themselves so don't have any reason to ridicule anybody so they don't. (General statement, all have some Chuckleheads)

To even think to post this or to comment on it means they have a profound effect on you. Cure your problem, buy a Harley and finally for once in your life, feel like you are cool. It is so silly to sit back drooling over their lifestyle, throwing jealous insults. Just go buy one.

Hey guys! Give Ron some room here. I kind'a see what his point is. You see, Ron was at the Southwest Triumph Fest this year, and after getting to know, respect, and like the guy quite a bit, I learned a little about him.

You see, Ron also owns a Harley, a machine that I think we ALL have to agree is a very nice ride on all those LONG, STRAIGHT, BORING ROADS(THIS according to Ron himself) that he only gets to ride around on in the environs of San Antonio Texas!!!(BTW...congrats on those S.A.Spurs, my friend..Great team!)

And so I say, IF you SELDOMLY ever get to ride MOUNTAIN ROADS, or ANYWHERE where you can actually LEAN a motorcycle over into "twisties"(such as in Arizona and California) then I say, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with riding or even owning a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

(I hoped that helped your cause here, Ron ol' boy!)

why do we ridicule hardly riders???? (in my best fiddler on the roof accent) TRADITION !!!!! my father (and i am sure some of yours) did it in the 40's/50's and so the tradition continues. its that simple. h.d. and English have always rode together but have always ribbed each other as to who is the better. i remember a time when you would never catch an h.d. rideing with anything jap, but that seems to have changed hahahahahahaha and the new youngens dont know the history, many are blinded by the advertisement hype machine so they dont know. but the true bikers know, I KNOW and thats what matters to me, i always try to enlighten new riders as to the history and some dont believe me, i tell them to go talk to there daddy. h.d bashing by English and vise versa has been going on since the beginning, i hope that in its proper context, and its tongue in cheek it never stops.

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Thanks Dwight.

Unless a Harley rider raped your dog or laughed at your bagged out Triumph Harley Bagger wanna be with ISO Grips and floorboards you have no reason to hate them. They have done nothing to you. Absolutely nothing.

The fact that they have not hurt you in any way and you talk about them like they are sub-human makes you all look so very small. I have been around Harley and Triumph all my life. I have never heard so much vicious dialog about other bikers as I have heard on this site in the area of Harley owners. When we were at a little bar in the mountains I pointed to the odometers to Mike so he could learn. 60k 90k ect, they were not trailer queens by any means at that bar. There are newbies and posers with every brand. We have a lot of them on this forum.

If you have a friend who owns a Harley and you spew insults in this forum, you disrespect your friend. Thats right, even if he doesn't hear it. He or she deserves better from a friend.

1/2 of you go beyond teasing to the downright stupid. We had a thread where a guy has exactly 3500 miles experience on motorcycles wanting to race a Harley for 200 bucks except before that he posts about falling off on curves and is afraid to ride fast now. Comon! Just cause you bought a Triumph does not make you a biker. It makes you a bike owner. I will race you every day.

I don't type well and forget to use smiley faces. I am not mad, as a matter of fact, I am laughing my a$$ off at the wanna be statements.

Dog! Your post in this tread as in others about other bikes shows that you appreciate all bikes and the love of motorcycles. You are a biker in my humble opinion.

Dwight, I know you are a biker! Anybody slices asphalt like that group I was with can tease me all they want.:).

Hi Ron,
I really do respect you, but this is as ignorant as the sheep who flock to this calling. I've owned 3 Harleys (4, if you count my '58 hummer 175cc hardtail - I don't count it). I, like most members here love Harley-Davidsons - we just don't want one. My last one, a new 1987 SuperGlide, fell to pieces at 25,000 miles when it was two years old. We don't ridicule Harleys for jealousy, we ridicule Milwaukee Madness. It is a humiliating disease, and it embarrasses its victims, it fills them with false pride because the victims can't realize that they ride a truly inferior scooter. They think they have the best, because they paid so much for an overweight, underpowered motorcycle. Our $500-$800 mods will beat their $4,000 mods everytime, and we can make them feel like they are moving backward in the turns.
You Go Buy One - I don't want one. I especially love the RoadGlide, but it is about #9 on my list of desireable motorcicles, behind a couple BMWs, 3 Triumphs, a Honda st1300 or Yamaha fjr1300 and a Suzuki Burgman 650 scooter. I could have bought another Harley, but I decided I wanted a motorcycle instead.
Take Care My Friend!

Now Paula,
I would not ridicule any HD riders, except the infected ones. I still love my '62 panhead, but during my morning prayers I thank God that I sold it (that was 1974). That bike had a suicide 3 speed, but I put a 4 speed foot shifter on it. Thoughts of that bike remind me of my days as a nurse, when I was regularly puked on, pooped on and peed on in one shift. I had the motor rebuilt by a master and I restored the rest. I never rode it 200 miles without a breakdown or something falling off. Still love it, but Thank God I own my third Triumph.

Dwight- Sweet! And you don't look too shabby either.

I'm with Skillet....It's the Milwaukee Madness that has me rolling my eyes.

I ride with HD guys, my daughter's Dad is a flattie/pan/Indian guy and we had some gorgeous motorcycles, and the occasional HD woman- have for my 25+ years of riding (18 now on my own bike) all "bikers" in the truest sense of the word. Now a few of them have expanded their bike choices to BMWs.

My second favorite bike of ever was my 79 Shovel. My brother-in-law has it now and the deal is that if he ever goes to sell it, I get first dibs.

I know folks who have new HDs, but who don't pay child support (but he's current on thier $250 month bike payment) or play the float (on her credit card bills, car payment)regularly- but thier "@SSES are on a Harley". I'd call that Milwaukee Madness, especially since I doubt they said "@sses' before the HD purchases.

When women ask me about learning to ride and they tell me they want a Sporty or a Lowrider for thier first bike, I tell them they're nuts....That that's their ego talking and to learn on something smaller. I take them to the Honda dealership, or steer them towards a Suzuki Savage, help them work a killer deal on a small bike they can manage.

Two years ago I was visiting a friend in Western MA...Her new guy, Mr. RUB personified, and his friends, had the year prior bought brandy new Road Kings and become "bikers". (I like Road Kings, a friend of mine has a sexy black one- it's sexy cuz he runs it with apes, and I like fat bikes.) I spent 45 minutes waiting while they polished thier bikes, consulted maps, debated where we were going for to stop for lunch, and decided who was going to be "Road Captain". Road Captain- having no clue what a Road Captain's job is if you're running with a club or MC riders association.

I hadn't ridden in the circle of folks my friend Craig was close too for a number of years, all long term HD bikers, some with club history "back in the day", now they're all on Lipitor- but they embraced me like I hadn't been gone a minute, and were THRILLED that a Triumph was there at Craig's passing.

Ask a better question. Why don't Harley riders ridicule Triumph riders?

Obviously San Antonio must be different from where I live, because I get it all the time from Harley owners. If I had a dollar for every time I heard "When are you going to get a real bike", I might have enough money to buy one of those $20,000 Harleys.

IME there are no other riders from other brands that are so stuffed up full of themselves like Harley owners, with BMW owners a close second. But they don't have a "profound effect" on me, I just get tired of hearing the snobs flappin' their jaws.

Ya know Paula, if I weren't already happily married.........

Well anyway...You've stated it about as well as anybody here, in my estimation at least.

(word to the wise though....they're cracking down on the language around here lately, ya know, so I'd watch how you reference the human posterior and/or certain people who you may attempting be to describe as such[people like say...me, or instance] using that there @-key of yours if I were you from now on....they say you women read this stuff nowdays, and you just might find yourself offending yourself if you don't watch your own language from here on out, Dear Lady!!!)

Oh, and BTW...I never did send my condolences on the passing of your friend Craig, for which I'll apologize at this time. May he ride forever within your kind heart.

Cheers,
Dwight

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

well.. few people actually ride Harley's to their extreme's, I am one of those who do... Until you have done a 38 degree lean angle turn at 70 mph on a 640lb Harley, I would highly suggest we not classify HD's as either slow or not particularly nimble. The '06 TBA parked right next to my bike has never outrun my '99 HD... if you have any pointers on how to make that happen, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm the most non-loyal HD owner you will ever meet, and the "buy a bike, become a biker" mentality is stupid. For as bad as HD is, sportbikes are not exactly exempt either. I ride with the TSBA Texas Sportbike Association, (yes i'm the only Harley rider!) and because you own a sportbike, doesn't make you a great rider either. It takes skill that cannot be bought to be a (biker, bada$$, enthusiast.... somebody who actually can ride!)

Making fun of everyone else's ride is pretty much standard fare, always has been and probably always will be... but I will say this, I get more comments on the TBA than I've ever gotten on the HD..
