That Norton is a Beautiful Bike. Reading your post about your left blinker brought back memories of my old BSA and 3 Triumphs. Lucas really was the Prince of Darkness! How many times I drove down the highway at night and watch my headlamp begin to lose its brilliance and soon the motor begin to die? But a quick fix and they were great bikes again.
The only things done to my '02 America in 34,000 miles is new rubber, plugs and chains. (i hate chains - hundreds of little moving parts). Well, I did make some 'voluntary' performance changes too.
