I first stopped wearing a watch when I was on holiday for the same reason (except the stopping for gas bit..).

Then I stopped wearing a watch full stop ...

I have stuff to do in a day and when it's done, the day is over.

If it's dark, I drink - if it's light, I go and ride ...

When I remember, I stop for food or a tap-out ..

Bad news is, I started wearing a watch again on occasion ....
Note to self: stop wearing a watch.
