After two years with the TOR's on my bike (and really no complaints about it), I've had Specialty Spares on for a few weeks now. (Thanks again, Ryan) I made the decision to make this change after the Georgia Rally, when I couldn't even tell if my bike was running once anybody else started their's. In all honestly this decision was based purely on sound (not performance). I wish I had made this change a long time ago...

The bike sounds much, much better. And, after some jetting adjustments, I think it runs noticeably stronger now. That's probably because these pipes are more free-flowing...Maybe it's also a placebo effect; If so, I don't care one bit. The grin factor is definitely higher now (although I have to wear earplugs for anything longer than about a fifteen minute ride). But, I'm sure not complaining about that.

For anybody considering handing over $400 (or whatever they're charging now) to their dealer to "install" TOR pipes, save your money. For basically the same price (or less), you can get SS or Bubs and be much happier. This is coming from someone who was perfectly content with the TOR's for two years. Maybe it's like the kid who gets oatmeal raisin cookies as a treat at home. He's happy with oatmeal raisin cookies as a treat, until the day he's playing at his friend's home and eats his first Double Stuff Oreo cookie. From that moment, the oatmeal raisin cookie that used to be a nice treat will only be a letdown. For me at least, TOR's are oatmeal cookies. Now, I'm going to go eat some Oreo's...
