I'd like to remove the front fender on my Speedy, while still keeping both disc brakes. Does anyone have any ideas or pictures of what they've done. My concern is the small brake line that loops over and attatches to the fender itself.

How about a nice round bar hoop with holes in flattened ends (or welded to fender washers) bolted to the rear-most bracket holes?

I removed my crossover line and installed 2 seperate lines from the master cylinder(used the double banjo bolt from the left side brake caliper) when I went to a larger/fatter front tire........ANGELIS

That would look a lot better than my idea.

I got black America front fender on eBay for $50. Removed my Speedy fender, drilled matching holes for the brake line. Then added a studded mudflap. I wanted a full fender with mudflap in order to avoid crap being sprayed onto the engine. What I didn't expect was how ****** great it looks on the Speedy. It makes the bike look longer, stretched out, more forward-looking...BIGGER..and menacing, if you will. Someone asked me how did I fit a Harley front-end to my Triumph...said he liked the HD Wide-Glide look of my bike.
All I did was change the fender.

I like your idea better John. I think a nice polished hoop like a fork strengthener would look cool and a nice set of braided break lines too.

A common way to split the brake lines on a bike is to install a Brake Tee under the lower fork tree. Basically it's a junction box for the brake lines. One line comes down from the master cylinder, and then two lines can be run off of it to each front caliper. Your major parts catalogs will have several choices for the Tee, and you can get lines made to length.

Ya know, Derek, I should've thought of that first. Years ago I was helping a buddy work on his road glide and he had me install a steel braided lines kit for him while he was working on something else. It's exactly what you're describing and I've actually installed one, albeit on a Harley.

Doh! (slaps forehead)

Anybody know if the regular Bonneville forks are the same distance apart as ours? If they are, Brent sells this fork brace.

along time ago there was a guy that replaced his front fender with one from a honda, i think it was one of them shadows?? 750?? but i remember it looked pretty good. sat close to the tire and had a bigger look. dont remember who it was but if you looked thru the pic post you might find it. i dont think we have heard from him in some time so it would be a post from a couple yrs ago.
