I'm new to this great web site and hope I'm posting this on the appropriate forum. Anyway, I live in southern California, specifically the Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank region, and I need some sources for parts as I try to bring my 1979 T 140E 750 Bonneville back to life. It's been sitting for several years (inside) and needs many things, e.g., brake pads, carb kits, fork seals, etc. Any/all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks all, Ron...

there are a few guys here who own vintage triumphs but your best bet would be www.triumphrat.net. free to join & has a vintage group.

Ron,

Pretty easy getting parts for your bike. I have a 76 and have no problems finding parts. I live in PA so I get my parts from places on the east coast. Hermy's in PA, British Cycle in IL or M.A.P. in FL. All have web sites or catalogues you can get. Hope this helps.

Buy a motorcycle trader magazine and you'll find places you can order parts from in there.

Rick

Try try the Triumph Bonneville forum on Delphi. The moderator, Grandpaul, is a classic enthusiast and has several 'restored' and in 'some state of restoration', in his stable. While your there check out the related forums drop down for associated forums.

Just curious, you do know that this site is primarily for the newer Hinkley Bonneville Americas and Speedmasters? It's just that by your posts here and in the classified, you may have mistaken the model 'Bonneville America' for classic Bonnevilles in America. Not that classic Brit iron is not welcome, just checking.

If you decide to buy a Norton Commando, let me know. I have a few more that are Norton specific. Also, the best forum I found for the old Meridens, Norton, BSA's etc. is:

Classic Bike

It's full of Limey's, Kiwi's and Aussies (I say this with fondness and appreciation) who know their stuff.

I liked the '79 T140E paint scheme so much, my '77 (traded in on the Hinckley) was done in that year's color scheme (see my gallery).

My personnel favorite parts supplier for the Meriden is the AMR site above. Casey is a nice lady who does not flat rate shipping (exact cost).

30 Years of Nortons and Meridens wore me out. It was time to move on. Let me know if there's anything else your need. I can export all my triumph bookmarks (lots of great Amal info etc.) and upload the Bookmark.html file somewhere if you'd like.

Regards,
