Just adding spacers isn't going to give you more pullback, which sounds like is what you need. I put on Harley Deuce style risers. Do a search on ebay and you should be able to find them for about $40. Had to drill out the triple tree to fit the 1/2" bolts, but I've seen posts in here referring to a 1/2" to 10mm bolt that works without having to drill. Also had to move the throttle cables to the right side of the frame, because sometimes if you turned the bars full right the revs would go up. Here's a pic:

Other options would be set of T-bars which is a one piece risers and bars setup. Guys around here have used Carlini or Baron bars, but just about anything that'll fit a Harley will work as the top tree bolt spacing is the same at 3 1/2" center-to-center. I went with the Deuce style risers because they were cheap, and I didn't have to buy longer cables.
For $40 + the cost of some shorter stainless bolts, it's made for a more comfortable reach to the bars. The ebay risers I bought weren't exactly machined to tight tolerances, so you might want to go with actual Duece risers, or something else. These are 6" high with 2 1/2" of pullback.
