This weekend marks the last episode of the cultural entertainment icon known as the "Sopranos" I look forward to it with some trepidation.
Phil leotardo (spelling) has whacked two of Tony's top guys and Tony and the survivors have gone to the mattresses.
Tony imported a couple of Italian cousins for a preemptive hit on Phil that went awry.
Carmela and Tone's kids are in hiding. AJ is a basket case. Will he step up and be supportive or be the whiny spoiled mob brat that he is?
Will tony survive or will he get whacked? Who will win the war?
Tonies shrink has fired him for good or so it seems?
Tune in Sunday night on HBO for the end of a cultural ICON.

I think Tony is going to Die. Don't ask me why, it's just a feeling. Infact I think Phil will take over it all. That seems to be the way they are wanting you to think.

I would like to see Anthony man up, but I don't think it will happen. And I'm surprised that the Arab arms deal thing never showed up again that seemed like too good to pass on.

Did'nt they say he was not expected to wake up in the hospital?
The whacking in the train/hobby store was a class act was it not?

I'm surprised he didn't just slap the $hit out of her being so effing boring - I hated the shrink sequences from the beginning.

I will be curious to see if Junior's story line is tied up at all...will he die in a State facility.. so forth.
*But, here is what I would LOVE to see happen* Tony get killed and on his way to the after-life, he has to face Cousin Tony (Buscemi), Puss, Ralphie, Christopher, et al. It would be a great way to bring closure to the series.

We'll see.

Just throwing this out.......What if at the end it is Tony, his sister Janice and AJ pourin' the lead to Phil and his goons? Wouldn't mind Paulie gettin whacked while they are at it too.

We'll all find out on Sunday night. I am already nervously wringing my hands.
As much as you might love to hate these guys. (not a one of them has any socially redeeming qualities) you still sit on the edge of your seat pulling for Tony's crew.

Paulie rats out Tony's location to Phil (there's a precedent) to curry favor with the "new regime." But Tony knows this and sets a trap for Phil, knowing that Phil's pride will make him show up to witness the extermination Tony and his crew, thinking he has the upper hand. But the ambush will take out Phil and his entire crew leaving Tony the victor. Silvio may have had a vest on, I don't remember seeing blood. Silvio shows up for the blood bath, perhaps even giving Phil the coup de grâce right in the brainpan.
I like that idea about Dr. Melfi taking him out in the end but I just don't see it.

Im really dissapointed Anthony Jr was such a puss! It would have been a great spin off if he would have grown a set and started running a crew. Sopranos meets Black Donnelys...it would have been great! Id like to see Silvio wake up and wack a few guys but Im wondering if he might be working both sides of the fence. Pauli...great character but hes a peice o sheet! Id like to see a final face to face with Tony and Phil! The old guy in the home...let him rot there.

Okay, it is finally clear. The writers bore us ever more increasingly with each episode, almost put us to sleep in the last, and then leave the ending to our imaginations. We of course will not miss any further episodes because we are not particularly keen on being bored every Sunday night. I think the model shows up. It turns out that she is flat chested, and is carrying two gernades in her bra. She frags the Sopranos, and that is how it really ended.

It was a bit disengenuous was it not? I thought Phil Leotardo was a real hardcore penile representative so I was glad to see him get popped. Now that was an imaginative post pop set of events that literally ended with a "POP"
Oh well.

Im thinking the same...way too many open ends...nothing resolved nothing ended. Movies, spinn offs, etc...I dont think the franchise is dead. I just hope they dont make us wait too long (read Gandolfinis ego!).

It's just another day in the life of a sociopath mobster. Life and death issues are decided moment to moment, everyday. Life goes on, and Tony Soprano is a survivor. Not always due to any particular action or effort on his part. Sometimes it's just blind luck. Tony just keeps truckin' on. That's my take.

No, the guy went into the bathroom to puke having watched all episodes of The Sopranos this season. He could not believe such an amazing program turned into a boredom fest!

It's been anything but boring. Low key, maybe, but the tension all season has been thick enough to cut with a knife.

Word on the street here in La La Land is that a movie deal IS in the works, and that a script has already been written.
The plot has Tony and his clan coming out to L.A., where after settling into a very comfortable Brentwood lifestyle, he's arrested for the murders of O.J. Simpson, Robert Blake AND Phil Spector.
But, of course, his trial being held in L.A, it won't be too hard to figure out what the verdict turns out to be, huh?!
An alternate ending has him actually being convicted(wouldn't THAT be a surprise twist, huh???!!!)...but has L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca letting him go free after only spending one day in jail.

Summation from Denver Post - (Non-Mob) syndication usually requires 100 episodes, I believe there were 86 in the series, and 2 ea. 2-hour episodes will be forthcoming for closure.
Why should a finale of program like the Sopranos be any less of a rip-off, than say, M*A*S*H* or Seinfeld - they sucked!
Best finale ever - Newhart - with Bob waking up to Suzanne Pleshette, rather than Mary Fran - Ending line something like, "I think you should wear more sweaters." Dream sequence a parody of St. Elsewhere's, (autistic) Timmy's looking at the snow globe. It was all in his head.
In conclusion, re: The Sopranos - you dealt w/ hoods, you was robbed...

Tony should have awakened from a nap in bed with Suzanne Pleshette. Then, Bob Newhart could have come in the door, just like he did in the intro to the old show, except, this time, he whacks Tony Soprano.

Well folks...sweeping the Internet and the media is that latest theory that Tony was indeed "whacked", presumably by that dude who walked past him on the way to the men's room upon his return.
Evidently, the theory is that the screen goes blank mid-scene was set up the episode before, when in a rowboat Tony is discussing with Bobby, who conjectures that "everything just goes blank" when one gets whacked.
Producer David Chase apparently is non-committal about this explaination, but has supposedly intimated that this sceanario is a "very good theory".

I agree. I think the fat man got whacked by the guy as he came out of the mens room.
But then......why not just walk up and do it? Tony and company seemed oblivious to any risk.
