And you scooter bashers should try it and you'll understand the grin! I'm putting more miles on my wife's than she is. I broached the subject at work and found out that quite a few HD and GL riders bought scooters for their wife/kid and are riding them more than they wanted anybody to know. Sort of a catharsis to admit it and now we're talking about a scoot-to-work day - just to freak out the others (a couple of the old HD guys really look the part and a scooter will split a beard @ 50 mph.)

For some illogical reason, shorts and a T-shirt @ 50 mph seems OK on a scooter, when we wouldn't consider riding "real" bikes to the corner without full battle gear.

I'm even lurking at scooter forums like Scootdawg so I can hop up the wife's 150. Of course there is that elitism from the Vespa folks...
