Well...yet another thread full of mind numbing, time wasting crap.

This is getting pathetic. Seriously. Newsflash...Triumph riders are no better, no smarter, no prettier, no different than Harley, BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Victory, or any other rider.

Everyone calls HD riders sheep...well have you not noticed that plenty of Triumph riders are exactly the same...buying watches, mugs, mouspads, clothing, toys embossed with the Triumph logo. Again...no different than any HD rider. Go ahead...tell yourself that this LitzerSki guy is full of crap. That's fine...I enjoy lying to myself at times too. It increases my self esteem when I place myself on a pedestal.

Have you ever met a Triumph rider who has ridden 200,000 miles on a 4 year old bike? Probably not. How about a Harley, BMW, or Honda rider? Yes, yes, and yes. As a Triumph rider, I can say that we don't ride any better, any faster, or any different than any other rider either. Wasn't there a thread within the past few days talking about all of the BAs & SMs for sale with practically no miles? Well that's AWESOME, but those HD guys who don't ride as much as me are absolue losers and posers and whatever else you guys love calling them.

Guys...for once...grow up. Realize that who you are has no bearing on the motorbike you ride. Stop bashing others for not living up to your own perceived notion of what's cool. Because there's a good chance that you don't live up to theirs.

So seriously guys...this whole narcissistic we're better, smarter, faster than everybody else thing isn't working too well. It's embarrassing...really.

Hey Mark when are you coming out here? June right? Maybe we can go for a ride and then comment on how many beautiful bikes there are for sale now.

I think you will like riding in New England a lot better than Down State NY.

But...But....we in the Triumph BA, Speedmaster clique are a small unique, elite, fighting force.

We are "The 300" of the motorcycling world. So few yet so completely beeyootiful and mighty.

We wield the sword of class and Triumphant one upmanship.

Wherever you look you see Hardleys and Hondas and zukis and even Beemers....Yamahammers, and Kawasakis.

But none of them is a Triumph Bonneville. None of those bikes has the lineage of a true King of Kings.

We still rule Dudes.

hey Phil, he probably hasn't gone to bed yet.

I ride what i want to ride and how ever much i want to. sure i bust on the low milage guys once in a while but only in fun. I just like to see people get out and enjoy themselves on the bike of their choice. The people here that haven't riden or owned different styles of bikes don't know what they are missing. Kinda like women, they are all different. But what fun it is to try different styles.

Big Poppies NEW Bike has a poorly designed vapor lock issue
My NEW Bike the starter circuit goes

Wait you forgot the first time Lee met my bike, it was on fire in the rain.

But at least we can hear our bikes running.

I will admit that I have Harley Bashed on this forum. I repent my ways and I will pledge to do better.
Thank you Brother Litzerski.

Thats a matter of oppinion. Are you upset with peoples oppinion of their bikes being better than HDs, or are you upset that we (all or most of us) take the mick out of HD and/or their riders at every opportunity.

There is a difference.

Personally, i do not dislike Harleys, but i cannot think off one model on offer today that I would swap my Triumph for. Not one.

Wow! Thanks Mark. I was getting a little irked at the latest rounds of HD bashing, but wasn't going to say anything.

Seems to sound better coming from someone with 2 Triumphs! Sure wish I could have been there to party with you guys!

later, Tom.

No problem brother.

It's not that I'm upset that people here think their bikes are the best. Your bike is yours...you should love it.

BUT what I absolutely abhor is everyone's elitist stance on the subject. I've ridden HDs and dig them just fine. As I have ridden Hondas and an assortment of other rides. I'd have 20 bikes of all makes and models if I could afford them. And I'd ride them all.

There was a thread on ratnet where someone was looking to buy either a Thruxton or that GT1000 or whatever that cafe'd Ducati is called. Someone gave THE BEST advice I've ever heard for purchasing a motorbike. Said to go sit on each one, take each one for a test ride, and buy the one that makes you grin the widest.

That's what riding is about...getting your fat butt off the couch or out of the office and just grinning like an idiot all day because you're experiencing your little slice of heaven for the day. Some people grin on Triumphs, others grin on Vespas. Just get out there and start grinnin'

That's right I almost forgot.

Here's the deal... Most of the HD bashing is against the sheeple attitude of some of the people that ride harleys, not neccesarily the bikes themselves. A lot of HD owners over the last few years have bought harleys because, "it's a harley". Heck, most of them don't even ride the things.

Most of us can give an inteligent reason as to why we bought our bikes, why we made the descision to buy a Triumph over any other brand or Triumph model other than saying with a glazed over look and spouting, "Well, it's a Triumph".

There is a guy at work, he owns two harleys (has almost only owned HDs for many many many years). He's a good guy. He and I are always giving each other crap about each other's bikes. But, when we are talking seriously about our bikes we both inteligently discuss why we like our bikes. He is not a sheeple. He bought those bikes not because they are HDs, but because he had reasons that he likes them. Yes, he is mostly brand loyal, but you will never hear him seriously say, "Because it's a Harley".

Ours are much prettier than Hardly Davidsons. I dont see a single scoot in their entire lineup that is as pretty as a TBA to look at.

The road Kings are big hulking tractor looking things.

large megalomaniacal ugly non streamlined monsters.

The Hardley Davidsons are fine but you just have to watch out on group rides if you are behind one for falling debris, and parts that come off at the most inoppurtune times.

More and more folks on scooters these days too with the price of gas. I see all kinds of scooter/vespa type rides everywhere these days, even some big ones at speed on the interstate.

I almost always give em a wave ... they're on 2 wheels too.

I prefer to mock the typical (these days) checkbook biker, and 99% of the time they ride Harleys. I also know a few old grizzled "real" bikers who put my annual number of miles to shame on their Harleys.

But our bikes are better. Harley's build quality has improved vastly over the past 10 years, but they're just catching up to Triumph. If I had a dollar for every time I heard a Harley rider talking about problems with his or her bike (or witnessed the problems myself), I'd certainly own one of each model of Triumph by now.

Sorry, man, but I'm not buying your flailing here. Does it go too far? Probably. But so what? Gives us something to talk about BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH OUR BIKES TO PREOCCUPY OURSELVES. Duh!

Why did all of us buy them to begin with? We didn't know that they were more reliable or handled better or whatever we tell ourselves. We bought them because they spoke to us. We walked into the dealer and heard that sweet siren song radiating from the bikes. And that's why Harley people by Harleys. They like the way they look, sound, feel, the same as us and our bikes whether you call them posers, RUBs, sheeps, whatever. And most of them are thrilled with their purchase the same as most of us are thrilled with ours.

I stand by what I've been saying in that we're no different than they are.

I will admit I don't wave at scooters.
Its funny on the Triumphs waving at HDs they give this odd, well I don't know what it is so I guess I will wave. And then when I had the sprint, I found out that cruiser riders don't wave at sport bikes.
