Well....a lot of us have used them. Some have NO problems (not me) Others have had some difficulty. Phil (BonnyUSA and I have had to pull the wire gathering bracket off in order to give it another half an inch to an inch leeway. I swapped to braided stainless and had them add a few inches. Solved my problem.

Send him money and he will send you the spacers. He is a one man shop so he only makes them as requested.

Before buckhorns, I had Jim's Spacers on the stock bars and I also removed the wire loom up front and re-routed my throttle cables to the right side of the frame.

I just added the spacer's last month. Make sure you buy the bolts with the spacers - it will save you a trip to the store. The triumph nuts will strip easy, so be prepared to use a drill. Someone here had the idea to rope the handlebars to the ceiling to get them out of the way - works like a champ. So I never touched the cables. I'm having no problems, my cable lengths are fine.

I agree. For the price, the bolts are worth it.

Definitely use a SIX sided socket when removing the stock riser nuts and installing the new ones. There must be NO slop. The stock ones are tighter than a nun's.... well, you get the point. Use a breaker bar and go slow!!

I have some 14 gauge wire that I bolted overhead of where I park the bike to work on her that is about 24" apart and long enough to reach the bike and then some. Works like a charm to keep your tank from getting dinged and the bars from getting scratched while you are doing this job or any other that requires handlebar removal.

Got Jim's spacers a couple of years ago. The stock cables are long enough. Didn't have any trouble getting the old hardware out. And the hanging-the-bar-by-the-ceiling bit, well there's a reason for that. If you don't hang them by the ceiling or have an assistant (blond, big... never mind) and you're not real careful... well, I don't know what would happen, but it would be bad!

If you decide to get the spacers (and I recommend you do) I have some class 10.9, 10mmx1.5, 100mm bolts if you want them.

Been a while since I've seen the spacers mounted. Anyone have a website or picture?

I have my handlebars pivoted nearly as high as they will go. They'll go higher, but I was stretching my cables too tight so I dropped them back down.

Wow, those are very reasonable. I've been mulling over mini-ape's bars but hate to cough up $200 in new cables for something I may not like. I'm going to order a set and the Grade 8 fasteners. Thanks for the links.

I 've had these spacers on my bike since I bought it. I think it was one of the first mods I did. In fact the picture on Jim's web site for the America is my bike. I didn't have to change any wiring or cables. They fit nice. Made a big difference in the feel of the bars.

Ordering a set today. I saw the spacers 2 yrs ago, but haven't heard much about them lately, forgot they were an option. I'm just looking for a little more height with the bars, these are a very inexpensive option.
