I just added the spacer's last month. Make sure you buy the bolts with the spacers - it will save you a trip to the store. The triumph nuts will strip easy, so be prepared to use a drill. Someone here had the idea to rope the handlebars to the ceiling to get them out of the way - works like a champ. So I never touched the cables. I'm having no problems, my cable lengths are fine.
