I note that many of the members list modifications to their machine as part of their signatures. Often you see, "AI removed." Isn't that rather redundant in that if you took a survey of the membership of this board there is probably at least one person who doesn't have the AI removed.

Make that three. My bike is pure stock. Sometimes i can't even hear it when i'm riding and don't even know if it's tunning. I have to crack the throttle; if i go faster then i know it's running. My little brother calls the bike Stealth Master because it is so quiet. He's got an odd sense of humor.

Welcome to the group queesha!!! You and little brother need to drill some holes in that first baffle and spend $25 for an AI removal kit from speedmaster.com. There are instructions in the Misc. Tech section.. It will keep your pipes from bluing in the long run. Better yet have your dealer to do it at your next service, if you don't feel comfortable with it. We can't have you going around with blued pipes sounding like a sewing machine. Wait a second... doesn't Ca. have emisson and noise ordinances? Never mind... I don't want to get you in trouble.

Add me to the list of bikes that still have the AI. When I took the bike for the 3,000 mile service I asked if they could also remove the AI while they had the bike. I was informed that "technically" it is illegal to have the AI removed in CA.
Others in CA ~~ what say you?

technically it's illegal to TOUCH the emmissions at all...INCLUDING AFTER MARKET PIPES!!....thats why MY bike is TOTALLY stock I DID NOT change the jets to 135/45, I did NOT put a uni filter in, I did NOT purchase a tool from newspeedmaster to defeat the D shape air mix screws, and I most certianly did NOT purchase a kick a$$ set of specialtiy spares pipes and in stall them ...so you KNOW i NEVER took that rat's nest of tube valve and vacume line's called the Air Injection circuit off MY bike Oh wait yes I DID...sorry

Illegal to remove AI, change pipes, modify airbox, ride without eye protection, any number of things. I quit putting my mods in my sig, not enough room. Have to abbreviate to the point of ridiculous.

So you guys are saying you changed parts of your bikes? Do they still run? Do you need special gas? I am afraid to make any changes.

As a relative new person here I have put my mods in my sig so that when I ask a question then you will know what shape my bike is in. In saying that, I have still been told to remove the AI if I havent already and thats in my sig.
