Hey guys, my bike has a little over 300 miles now and I just got this squeak in my front forks when i hit a bump or move them up an down. Now what could this be?? Anything I can do or should I take it to the idiots at my dealer?? Also the front brake started making alot of noise on my last ride and i figured it just heated up but now it won't go away, any ideas?? thanks

Well, for the fork squeak, a little WD40 sprayed up the forks usually works. Mine did the same thing and it went away after the first application, came back a couple hundred miles later, sprayed again, seems to be gone for good. 8500 miles so far. Don't know on your brakes, never had any problems with the fronts. Rears wore out at 4500 miles however and this seems to be common, so watch them.

Tom. my new s/m did exactly the same. the squeak has gone without doing anything at all, however the front brake is still real noisy under normal to hard pressures.I'll be getting it looked at at the 10 000 k's service. She has allmost clocked up 4000 k's since new.I'm not too concerned as it pulls up so quickly and there is no signs of brake damage or wear to be seen.

This is to bigbill. Those seals around yourlower fork legs are rubber. never use a petroleum product on rubber, use a silicon product since this will not damage your fork seals. Angelis

The squeak's from the fork shrouds being slightly misaligned. Loosen the bolts holding them in place and wiggle them a little and it should stop. The brakes are probably squeaking from a build-up of brake-pad dust. Give them a wash with water and it'll go away for a little while till it builds up again.

Holy Jumping Proust, Batman! Memories of times forgotten! This was probably my first ever query to this forum two years ago, when my bike had around 500 on the clock. Most folks recommended a short squirt of WD-40 up the forks. Did that - and never heard anything since.
Of course, I'm on to my third speedometer ...

Not those! Look and you'll observe some bolts that hold each shroud to the lower triple tree. Those are the ones to loosen and retighten.
