In it is mentioned the Yamaha TRX parallel-twin, a sportbike based on their TDM dual-purpose bike(360-crank) that was very popular in Europe, but never made many enroads into the American market and was dropped by Yamaha after a few years. The TRX, with it's 270-crank, was never imported into the U.S., which I always thought was a shame, as I believe a more narrow and lighter motorcycle for use "in the twisties" is preferable.
I've had the occassion to meet and talk with motojouralist and racer Alan Cathcart(currently the european correspondent for "Motorcyclist Magazine") a couple of times over the years, who raced the TRX in european and british circuits with much success a few years back, and every time the TRX is mentioned, a smile appeared on his face and he almost swoons...."Ahh, my TRIXIE! How I love her!"
