I was wondering since 2002 who has the highest miles on their america/speedmaster so far. I believe that there are a few that have over 50,000 miles on or better. Just wondering how much more? Probably with a few valve adjustments and full synthetic oil they are capable of 100,000 miles.

I met an guy who owns a shop somewhere in Australia and someone down under has one with over 110,000 miles and has only performed routine maintenance on it.

I was over Beartooth Pass in 2004, that was my personal "highest miles" so far, but that was a few miles ago ??????

Yes, the "internals" should last a long while.................

Who was the guy that picked up a BA for just a couple hundred bucks with super high miles? IIRC it was a bike the dealer he worked at took in on trade...... he posted a couple times here.

Recall the posts but not the name. I believe he was a wrench at a Florida dealer.

Thanks Phil, couldn't remember the name.

Here's a link to the thread. Only 70,000+ miles.

Very Funny John, is that sense of humor a side-effect of the high altitude out there?

Just did a phone interview with Gore in Denver, so hopefully I'll be able to make similar lousy jokes about going over Eisenhower Pass someday soon....

OH, HE#% NO!! Never forgotten. It may be a bit sticky cause I'm technically obligated to stay here for 2 years since they moved my family, but IF I can't negotiate that in with Gore, then I'll just bide my time till that isn't an issue any more and have another go at it... Coming out there in August with the family regardless to visit the family (assuming my vacation gets approved!), albeit without the bike...

But still, I can almost see the Front Range now as I come round over the ridge on C470 heading west....

If I keep on my ratio, will be up there soon, I bought her in Feb of 06, and just rolled over 17,000,,,,that's over 1000 miles per month...and only one incident (minor rear ended...) Love her more everyday...
