If any of you have this chain guard, I wonder what your impression is of it in regards to fit/finsih, etc. Thanks.

arrrr you found my pics
well some of us are mech gifted but i still cannot up load a pic to the forums
thanks moe glad you like the guard
the clutch cable guide is from OEM just type oberon engineering and it will come up on the search engine
i thought it looked better than the chrome crap you get out there
by the way the chain guard is made of stainless rod and does not guard you against the crap you put on the chain in other words its just for show
oh it keeps the pigglets of my back to when they do MOT checks on the side of the road

Yeah. A bit difficult to figure out what you were asking. However, try clicking here as it seems you are dead set on finding out some information. www.masengineering.it

Let me repeat the original question that started this thread:

If any of you have this chain guard, I wonder what your impression is of it in regards to fit/finsih, etc. Thanks.

In order to learn to communicate more clearly, what was not understood? I thought 1) I was seeking someone who has one, and 2) I wondered what they thought about the fit/finish of the guard. Fit, is how something readily attaches to the bike, and finish is the quality of the chrome, etc.

I'm sure MAS engineering thinks it's the best accessory in the world, but what do the owners think?

I had just never heard of it... But from what I understand, Brent's chain guard guy is a bit hard to get ahold of! I think he and I PMed back and forth about him making me one, and then he kinda dissappeared. So no, I can't answer your question, and judging by that guys response, I doubt many other guys can unfortunately.

Apparently no one has purchased one - it sure looks nice, but for the price, I wanted to get a user report prior to forging ahead with the purchase.

Maybe shoot Brent an e-mail and see if he knows of anyone who has one?

I don't think anyone here has purchased one because from what I can tell, it's not made to fit our bikes - it fits the standard bonnies.

...but it does look good.

Exactly. That was/is the confusing part. Perhaps Ben or Sandy know of a prototype being developed for the Bonneville America or the Speedmaster?

I guess it has all been a moot point then. I did not realize that the chain guard was not meant for a BA. Nevermind!

If it's made for standard Bonnies, it won't fit the BA or SM

So basically you're saying it won't fit BAs or SMs because it is made for standard Bonnies, right?

In FL, I wanted to swap someone's stock BA or SM chain guard for the chrome one on my Thrux, so someone (Jim possibly?) and I looked 'em over and it was quite obvious that they wouldn't swap.

That one for the standard Bonnie that looks so good is stainless aint it? No problems with hydrogen embrittlement as a result of the plate process and that puppy will not crack or fail.
