Apparently there are a number of good alternatives of after market pipes. Most people love the ones they have as most all of the good alternatives are much better than the Triumph pipes.

I love my Specialty Spares long slash cuts - love the look, love the sound, and really love the performance improvement.

Sceptres are nice but I think way too much money. I personally like gutted stock pipes with reducer left in for back pressure. But there are plenty of more reasonably priced after market pipes out there. I think BUBs can be had for between $300 and $400 JCW has some very cheap pipes that some guys on here are happy with. They were like $20 if memory serves. I like gutted because they sound as good or better than Sceptres and don't cost anything except time.

The Specialty Spares are $385. for the pair, but for only $419. you get the pipes, jets, and an AI removal kit. They also recommend removing the snorkel and replacing the stock filter with a UNI which they sell as well.

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me as a kit.

for the ultimate in class and sound that is kewlll yet not agressively obnoxious the choice of professionals everywhere are Thunderbike pipes from New Zealand. for those looking for the distinction and functionality of a nice low rumble that tickles the palate of the ear just to a fortuitous "T" ....Than T-bike pipes are whatcha need.

they are not loud but they sound COOL. KEWLLLLL.

If you want loud get the SCEPTERS.

The Epcos are a bit louder than T-bikes and also are nice sounding pipes.

The T-bikes and Epcos are the only ones I have heard.

I can't wait to try the satin tunes that showed up the day after my bike died. They are just sitting there in my garage all forlorn.

Ted, I would think the AI removal kit would have instructions, but they are also in this forum in the tech vault. It's not complicated, it's more of a undo this, and plug that, sort of thing.

You'll love the SS pipes. I also liked the stock slash look, but I think these look much better.

The info on the Rally is in the rides section under "NH rally"
Both Rob and Ron (fishercat) run Specialty spares they sound nice. But on the way out to the NY rally last year the pipes would synch when they were next to each other. It was quite an odd sound.

Of my opinion, thunderbike is the best sounding pipes I have heard since i bought my bike in 05. They used to have a sound byte on their web site. Very british sounding. On the sound, they don't overdo it and they don't underdo it.
I believe that says it all.

I like the stock gutted pipes for sound. Haven't found anything else loud enough for me. Even the gutted stock pipes aren't loud enough but loudest I have heard. Louder than Sceptres. My friend is running Sceptres so I have compared.

I've heard them all except for the Thunderbike pipes so I can't comment on them. The slash cut Bubs are the best I've heard. Chrome looks much better than stainless and these pipes never turned color. Utterly beautiful with the ultimate sound for our bikes and competively priced.
