Hello All !

Are there any specs for the 790cc's oil pressure at idle ?

I believe there is a spec at either 4000 or 5000 rpm.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The 790 like the 865 will vary per RPM and heat thinning the oil. I don't think there is a published spec. 5-15 psi at idle depending on the temp would be good. 35-55 psi in operation is probably a fair number under load. Over 65 I would say the pressure is getting bad and over 70 we should hope Triumph has a working relief valve

I really don't know, just typing out loud. So my advise is no pressure is very bad and pressure over 70 psi is very bad. Thats why I did not buy a gauge I would just worry and look at it. What I don't know makes me happier.

According to my 2003 shop manual, it's 40 psi at 4,000 rpm with 80C degree oil temp.

I recently installed an oil gauge and was really surprised at the pressure it does pump. At cold idle with choke say half on theres about 80psi. When it warms up at idle it sits on about 20psi but if you blip the throttle it flicks up to around 60 or 70. Cruising at highway speeds gives about 70 psi.
