to kill as many Love-bugs as possible. Ghrahm and I did a loop of south Florida this past weekend. I've never had to clean my headlight with a knife before!! For those of you that have never experienced our wonderful little friends, they usually occur twice a year in Florida to mate. The duraton is 3-4 weeks and these little black bugs flying united are everywhere. They have no natural preditors because they taste like CRAP! Yes, that's a first hand opinion. They are very acidic, and will ruin paint if left on for any length of time. Rumor has it that U. of F. let them out of a lab accidentally and they now thrive here in Florida. So come on down boys and girls, do your part to kill these little invaders!
later, Tom.
But, what do I know?

Yeh, I know it's an urban legend, but it still doesn't make em taste any better! At least the 17 year cicada has recipes associated with it! later, Tom

I was in Florida last week. Took the family to Disney. Last Friday i drove from Disney to the Kennedy Space Center. Holy crap. THE BUGS. They were hitting the wind shield like rain drops. I took a photo of the car at the end of it, and it was covered in bugs. Unbelievable. I have never seen anything like it. Saw one of those HUUUGE winnabago type RVs driving on the same road. His windshield was black with bugs. I have no idea how he managed to see the road our front through the window. Oh, and PS. This was my first visit to Florida. and as for Disney

Thats what we like about southern Az....its pretty much bug free. Hot and dry but few flying/buzzing/hit ya in the face or fly down your throat bugs. At times you can ride all day and not so much as eat a single bug. Some states you can get an entire recommended daily unit of protein just from the bugs. You dont have to stop to eat. I know some states you NEED a windshield for the bugs ....its just to much for a naked bike without one I bet.

NAH! I'm surprised you guys didn't know this! THAT'S why those boys at the U of F also gave us GATORADE in order to wash away the acid taste of them there bugs TOO!
(they felt it was their duty after they accidently let them suckers loose)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Don't blame the Gators. It was UCF, University of Central Florida. Blame the Golden Knights.
