That is the last Holy Grail on these bikes. I don't recall seeing anyone pull that off. Of course, and I'm thinking about that custom from Finland where they adapted a stretched aftermarket gas tank, there's no reason why you couldn't install a bung for a sending unit off another bike. Then just wire it up to an aftermarket gas gauge mounting on the handlebars.
