None of us wants to read about a rider down, but when it is one of our family it hits a little harder.

I'm sorry to inform you that Oneijack was involved in a serious motorcycle accident yesterday.

The details are still pretty iffy, and I do not want to speculate, but it was serious enough he is in the hospital with a fractured skull, broken collar bone and a few broken ribs.

We were going to meet up this morning for the ride to the British Motorcycle Meet in Oxford, MA... When Lynn and I got to our meeting point I gave him a call and his brother answered and gave me the news.

Jack was taken to Hartford Hospital so the accident had to happen somewhat close to Hartford, his brother told me it appears that a car pulled out in front of him and he had to make a choice to either lay it down or T-bone the car, he laid it down and right now that is all that is known.

I'm going to send him a fruit basket and get well card signed from all your friends at BA.COM.

His brother is going to call me tonight with an update and I will let everyone know how he is doing.

John

My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family.

Let us know if we can do anything else to help.

I was thinking about him all day as I rode to where we were supposed to meet, and my ride home! Luckily, the air was nice and cool, and traffic was light, so I was able to enjoy the ride and not get too distracted by it. Sometimes the slab is good when you are worried about cars pulling out in front of you, no intersections!

John, maybe next weekend we can all sign a card for him.

Benny,

I know he would like that I will pick anyother card up and we can all sign it next week at the Tech Day.

Like you that is all I thought about all day, Martin, Lynn and I took RT 44 home and I do not think we went over 45 the whole way.

You can send an on-line CareGram (get well message) by going to HartHosp.org, then using the Visitors drop down menu.

The staff will think they've got a celebrity guest.

Thanks Steve for finding that.

Hey John, could you ask Jack if we can have his name so those of us that would like to can post there? If nothing else, it would lift his spirits. It would mine.

I would also like to send my well wishes. Does anyone know if he is concious? Paralysed? anything like that? I certainly hope not! If there is an address I would like to send a card. If not anyone I can send one to and they could maybe forward it for me?

I am in shock! Last thing I expected to see when I logged on.

Edit: I just can't stop thinking about this. It hits me deep where it hurts. The worst thing is when a brother goes down. Any words I can say or type can not express how I feel about this.

Update:

Jack's phone has been shut down, I missed his brothers call last night, but told me he is awake and can move all his parts and is just as crankours as always (good sign).

I do not know his last name either I called the hospital and tried to plead our case but they will not release patient info without a last name. I'm sure he lives in east Hampton, CT..

Someone has his address, remember back a couple of months ago a tree fell on his shed and his bike ended up with a busted headlight and turn signals. Someone sent him one. Anyone remember or can find the thread I think he posted in Classifieds.

So all we can do is wait for a call back from his brother. We thought for awhile his wife Sandy was with him, but the good news on that is he was by himself.

Good news, John!!! (regarding the somewhat positive update, that is!) Thanks. Sounds like he's doing pretty well, all things considered.

Hey Jackson(once you're able to read this)....GET WELL SOON!!!
(Any truth to the rumor that the state of CT is planning on suing your a$$ for that divot you put in the middle of their road with that hard head o' yours???)
