Robert, my italian friend...
Just as you recently undercut some very valid points about "all things Americana" when you overstated your position regarding the american rationale for a certain venture to....(ahh, but I digress)...I believe you have fallen into your very own trap yet again, sir!

You see, just as HenryHawk notes, the Z06 Chevrolet Corvette would have been a much worthier opponent to that admittedly very cool little Lotus, than that Ford Muscle Car would have been in this obvious mis-matched comparison. In fact, the Corvette would have pretty much annihilated that little Lotus in just about every category imagineable. Yes, EVEN with that "old outdated" american pushrod motor, sir. A "notoriously" bullet-proof motor that can now get upwards of 24 MPG while blowing the doors off just about anything that doesn't cost at least FIVE TIMES(can you say "Prancing Horse"?) what it does.

Don't believe ME that the latest CHEVROLET CORVETTE is not only a WORLD-CLASS AUTOMOBILE, but also is BY FAR the most "Bang for the Buck"(I'll tranlate that from "American" to Italian for you, sir....."It's a one'a bada assa motorcara, Goombah") that one could possibly purchase today(no...not even CLOSE to an overstatement there, sir), then I invite you to scan almost any internationally recognized automobile publication out there at your local newsstand to see what their opinion might be about this american designed and built automobile.

(Now, is there any other issue you'd care to discuss at this time....be careful....I'll be looking for that "overstatement problem" o' yours, dude)

(and they think those lousy Limeys are "droll", HUH?!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
