Hello all. I currently own a Honda Shadow VLX but am trying to get into an America. I really like the style and the Triumph has a lot of heritage and reputation. Everyone I've talked to says nothing but good things about the America. I'm 51 and just getting back into biking after a long hiatus (seems like there's a lot of us). Had to get a bike as a less expensive alternative to a car for back and forth to work transpo......(plus it was the perfect excuse to get a bike). Looking forward to interacting with you folks.
Steve

Welcome to the forum and back to biking. This site is without a doubt the best resource for America/Speedmaster riders.

Thanks for the welcome.......this is going to be an interesting pursuit. I owe too much on my Shadow to trade in effectively so I'm actually selling stuff to try to come up with the difference so my payments aren't too high. Not there yet but still working on it. Can't wait.

Good morning Steve and Welcome!! It took me almost a year to get my bike after I discovered it. It was definitley worth the wait.

Steve, Welcome to the forum. I got my first Triumph, a Speedmaster, a few weeks ago and I love it. You won't be disappointed when you first ride the America (or the Speedmaster) I can assure you.

Bob

2003 Speedmaster I won't rise to the occasion, but I'll slide over to it.

Welcome. I believe you will be happy. Wendy has an America and I a Speedmaster. We both love the bikes. Ours have been trouble free. I only have 1 problem......can't stop customizing them!! LOL

Hello and welcome. I used to own a 95 VLX and it was a good bike, not the most powerful but mine handled great. I was fortunate enough to recently purchase a leftover 06 America and it's worth every penny. Nice folks here and plenty of info.Good luck on your search -- hurry up.

Thanks Popeye....if you want to take it off my hands I'll throw in shipping.... ....just kidding....actually the only reason I have it is because I qualified online for Honda financing and wanted to "ease" myself back into bikes with a smaller used cruiser. Wife thinks I'm never gonna be happy......

Steve I went from the VLX to a Vulcan 750 which was quite an upgrade... really swift -- probably would out run my BA. But this America is soooo nice looking and easy handling. Get one now.
