Hate to be the wet blanket, and I hope it isn't an issue, but better to know now -- As a post 9/11 condition, Canada won't admit those with prior misdemeanors (or felonies) without a song and dance paper trail prior to attempting to cross the border.

In my little state of CT, some speeding charges, for instance, 65 in a 40 MPH zone, is considered a misdemeanor offense.

Yeah, I am aware of this. Had a buddy try to fly to New Foundland for business. They wouldn't let him in for a conviction that took place years ago. "Twas fun dealing with the customer on that one.

If they don't let me in, I guess I'll just ride around the UP all by my lonesome until I can meet up with the folks coming back on the other side. It'll just be horrible.

the good old border thing again i allways get a kick out of this.. as some one who goes over that border alot and has been doing it for years.. this is no big deal even if you do have a misdemeanors or a felonie they will still let you in it will depend on what your felonie is...at last year noreast rally i belive it was lynchphoto that got stop and called in he had dui back in day and they still said he could come in..

It's begining to look favorable for my Tuesday - Wed. off...have Nurses eye balling it for me...Sunday still a question, but that is the least important because I'll just meet you all on the Canadian side and back track with you on the best part of the journey. (Wisonsin and Michigan are cool but the
North Shore route is..well more Shore!

About the misdemeanor's...I wouldn't know anything about that. I've never been caught.

I just got called and my boss just OK'd my time off for the 6th - the 8th so I am in the race! Never underestimate the positive affect about making "bikers" crazy!

Phase two...my wife still feeling good enough for me to split...which sometimes is as bad as getting time off, but I think it will be ok...now I am excited!

Hope y'all have a great trip 'round the "inland ocean". I distinctly remember a number of childhood vacation/adventures from the backseat of a '68 Caprice wagon, complete with fake wood panelling siding. Don't overdo the pasties

awesome!!! i would love to do this ride some day. i grew up in houghton. (in the center of the pink circle on the map) i used to ride to the tip of the peninsula once a week, some of the best riding you'll ever find ... you could hang out in that area for a few days checking things out.

Drink at home. I do, in large quantities. My 4 year old often asks, Dad, can I bring you another drink? I know, you are jealous.

Davin,

You'd be more than welcome to join us if not the ride why not come out to my place, I'm only twenty minutes over the border from Detroit. At least Keith and Shari will be here on the Friday and I was planning on taking them to the Kildare House in Windsor on the Saturday. Again you are more than welcome and if you need a place to stay I've got plenty of room.

OK Riders,

Does it still look like you all will be leaving the Sault Ste Marie area on Monday morning? (Tentatively- Monday the 6th) I can likely start driving Sunday night after I get off work if I don't get beat up too bad. But it's about an 8 hour drive so I can't make it that night unless I can get someone to come in a bit early on Sunday and then I could try an meet you all there or at least make it closer to catching up in the SSM before you head out.

If it looks like there may be a change let me know and I can just wait for you to hit Duluth and head out north (But that would waste a day of not riding with ya'll). I will be flexible. Contacting Jeff (loco) too to see what he can accomplish.

I am really excited about this.

Yes you did, I have it on file as well as Keith..or Mert's...I think.

I am looking into getting a special T Shirt made up for the riders if you are all interested. I am seeing about making a Circle Tour design maybe putting on my new Bike Logo I had designed so it would be a special release. Will do up a rough, run it through Cafe Press so it would be economical and I'll see if I can drop it down some with Fast eddy Sports funds by a couple of bucks.

Let me know what ya'll think

Rough idea: Scrapped rough Idea. But working on something nice.

Hey All,

Just got off the cell with Loco. We need to nail down options, chew them up and see what it tastes like.

loco can be in Duluth around 0900 Monday morning, he and I can split whatever direction you all would like to travel first and we will run into you.

If you go the North route first we will likely run into you east of Thunder Bay around the town of Schriber which is 314 miles from SSM and and 316 miles from Duluth, darn near dead center and do-able easy rides allowing for traffic.

If you go the south route, will need to know if you are going to go up the peninsula to Eagle River Houghten area because we can meet you up there. If you don't go up there we can meet you along the way or in Duluth which is 416 miles from SSM about 8 hours drive.

You guys call the Ball, Jeff and I will meet up with you and drive with you as long as we can. We will be back tracking at some point so it doesn't matter from our perspective.

eddy
