OK I know this will be moved somewhere but, I'll start here. My left front fork is leaking about a spoon full of oil every time the temp goes below 45F. I think I should rebuild the fork but is this something a newbie should tackle??

Probably not. If you are very mechanical and have one of the two maintainence manuals (Triumph or Haynes)you might. Otherwise, it could be dangerous if you don't do it right.

Step 1- Get a shop manual, Haynes or factory. Step 2- Read the section on rebuilding forks. If you say Huh? more than 3 times on the first read-through, don't try it.

I wouldn't but then I'm a wuss. I'm in the process of getting a set of forks refurbished for the 03 and I think it would be worth the reassurance.
Find a place that'll do the work and get it done there. If my hunch is right, it'll take them about half hour.
