Again, I disagree. This is the internet age. Businesses, small and large, advertise and sell their goods and products on the internet. Customers give personal information and credit card numbers over the internet in order to purchase these goods. Often times we are dealing with companies 1000's of miles, or even continents away, trusting often only on reputation based on word of mouth from others who have dealt with them previously. When things go wrong and NO RESPONSE IS RECEIVED, it is only natural to be a) PO'd and b) concerned that the company may be in difficulty.
In a small town or city, one can go directly to the business location and demand an explanation...not so in internet dealings. a forum such as this can serve several functions in such a case...those who have had good experiences in dealing with a business can reassure the concerned customer that this is probably just an anomaly and will get fixed. In the event it is not just an anomaly, then others have a heads-up that trouble might be brewing. I don't know about you, but if I spend $600 or $1000 or even more for an internet order, ****** right I'll be concerned if it's not right.
If it's made right, that's what good customer service is in my mind, and I'll tell the world about that just as surely as I'll tell the world about a bad experience.
