Yah, I had a look at them a while ago... the quality looks really good but as you alluded they require oiling and maintenance and will inevitably end up looking tired and sagging. I also wanted large slant bags, as I've been using a set of square-ish bags for about a year now and they simply weren't big enough. The drifters seem to fit nicely between the shocks and the rear blinkers, and if they weather the way my old bags (also synthetic leather) did they should last for ages. A quick wipe over with armourall occasionally keeps them looking good.
