I was wondering does anyone know of anybody making a spinner/knock off type of cap for our bikes?

I think he is asking for one that looks like a spinner on a wheel.

I see Moe posted the Harley one that Brent carries. If that isn't it he could use the same application cap in a different style from any Harley shop or place like J&P Cycles that sells after market stuff. Just have to measure for dash clearance.

The application of the one pictured is: vented RH thread,83 or later XL,FXR,Dyna,Softtail , or Road King.

anything to throw a darn wrench in the works. Would be too easy to leave the tank opening alone so guys could use other parts on them.Next thing you going to see is Triumph custom gas caps from Triumph.

It does seem stupid that they would have the same tank and change the tank opening. I've got the flush mount on my '05 and love it.

Yeah, I was looking for one that look like the ones on the wheels. I wasn't sure if the aftermarket ones would fit our bikes or not. My wife's sportster's is to big so I figured the other ones wouldn't work either.

Bob:
I take it no problem installing the cap on your 05? I was looking at them but wanted to be sure.

Absolutely, no problem. I never heard of anyone having a problem until some time after the 06s were out. I like the look and the fact it is more secure, not to mention it is vented where the stock is not.

I had a problem getting the cap to fit my 05 ~~ I finally returned it to Brent for a refund. I posted a thread about the cap and several said they had problems getting to fit. But many said they had absolutely no problems. Go figure.

Robert, what was the build month of your 2005? Even though I bought my bike in July 2005, it was built in England December 2004.
