has anyone cruised much with wife on board, if so how does the america or speedmaster handle?

Yes. The Bonneville America handles like a heavier bike. Fatter in the turns and less stable at bicycle speeds. Once you feel the new weight, you do get used to it. Slow speed handling is best with feathered clutch. You'll learn to accept the bike moving around while you are touched down. Some things just don't change. Best advice for the fairer-side pillion is to enjoy the ride. Want to explain to the wife the ins and outs of thier riding position? Go to a huge parking lot and have them steer for you by leaning their body. They'll catch on real quick. Oh so that is what happens when I move around, eh? Oh Cananda.
