The bike deals with 2 up just fine. I had the OL on the back a couple of times and learned that there can be a problem if your passenger rides. The only way for a person who rides to behave as a passenger is to hold on tight with closed eyes. Otherwise, the instinct to steer is just too hard to overcome.
