Got a quart of 10W fork oil. Think we need more?

If we're gonna do 3 pairs of forks with a 50/50 mix of
10 and 15 weight, we will need at least 1 more, make it
3 total if you can.

If your just changing out the springs you shouldn't need any fork oil...the progressives are wound tighter and will actually displace MORE oil so you could (on paper) need less....but in actuallity you will just take out the old (stock) and replace them (with the new springs) of course if I missed a post in all of this then it could be that I'm talking out my a$$

Can you bring the hose, or whatever you used to bleed the brakes?
I'd like to do rear pads, and change the original fluid(03).

Thanks buddy!

I have a brake bleeder too. I was thinking of using it to suck out the fork oil I don't NEED to actually replace my fork oil, I just want to, so we'll see. I only have the one quart, but I know where to get more, so I can always do it myself when I get home, ya know?

So, exit 38 and bear right, check! See ya then. I'm shooting for the 8am boat, should be you Ma's house before 10.

I think I have a brake bleeder too, I'll check to see if I can find all the parts for it. Last time I used it was to suck out the fork oil on my old bike, alot easier than taking the forks off.
Oh by the way I got a haies manual, I'll bring that too....

Sounds like you guys have the stuff covered so I guess I'll just bring Wendy unless I missed something. I'm gonne do my best to be there before 10.

I might want the old stock fork springs to try cutting so I can lower the front end of Wendys bike. Since once they are cut they are cut I haven't tried it on her bike incase it makes the travel too little and she bottoms out. With an extra set I can go back if I need to.

neither Wendy nor I drink so no problem there. I don't at all and Wendy may on very rare occasion have a beer.

Back safe ,dogs behaved. Was a nice ride got dark and threatening around Port Jervis but by the PA border at Matamoris was riding back into hazy sunshine. The shoulders of the roads were wet so must have just dodged it.

Thanx to Uncle Charlie and his mom for having us and feeding us. Thanx also to the cooks , Wendy will let ya know on the ecoli ,Mark.

Was nice putting names to faces and meeting everyone.

Got home just after 7:30. We cut our afternoon ride short cause it was gettin dark, and some of us needed to ride home. So I jammed out at, what 5ish? I stopped at the ferry dock right as they were letting the first cars on at 5:35. Boat didn't leave till 6, but I made it! Great day everyone. We should do it again! Never even broke out the brake bleeder or carb balancer!

I rolled in around 6 pm. Poppy, Brett, Geoff, and Unc were there, and we swapped a few stories in the shade of the tent.

Charlie brought out his stash of exotic bike potions & elixirs, and had my old Speedmaster shined up pretty good by the time I left with Brett & Poppy. It looked so good, that the deep sheen induced a 20 mile downpour on the way home. Eh, it was a warm rain - no biggie.

Thanks for your hospitality Unc. Hope to make it earlier next time.

had a good day with the guys(and Wendy.)

got to do some basic wrenching on Blue(i do love getting my hands dirty with motorcycle dirt.)
took off my floor boards to go back to pegs for a while. all went well, a little help, a little guidance, and all went very well. until we set out for a ride.

now this is no one's fault by my own. i should have checked my work immediately; rather than leave Blue in the cool of the garage. but when we got geared up to ride, the bike wouldn't shift. we were ready for take off. all the bikes we running, we were sweating and ready for wind. ok, sorry guys. bikes off, kickstands down, helmets and jackets off.

Jason and John were there at the ready. i had forgotten to put the bushing for the shifter inside the bracket. Jason got the tools, John got into the fix--had Blue broken down and put back together within 5 or 10 minutes(thank you Jason and John.) very good lesson for me.

thanks for your hospitality Charlie. it really was a good day.

IT was Justin, not Jason, right?

Anyway, I remembered I had a couple pics I never showed anyone.

First off, this was out escort out of Port Jeff Harbor on the ferry yesterday. Coast Guard boat with a really big gun mounted on the bow!

I was also telling Charlie how the weather reminded me of the noreaster last year, trying to outrun a storm front. Last year this was my view from the ferry as the front approached.

It's Justin, but no worries Ive been called a lot worse.
When I was back in WA the Coasties would escort the ferries back and forth, some guy would man the gun on the bow all the time. In the summer it was a good gig, when it was raining that job must of sucked. Once again it was great putting faces to names.
Cheers

Thanks for put the Tech Day on, it was a great time had by all.

Alot of talent and stories and the work got done.

Beautiful ride home left around 8;30 with Martin 75% and little traffic oon the Merrit and Rt 8 but we flew home.

Rolling the throttle on now in 5th gear at 70 and she moves right out no more bog. The TBS needles and going down to the 155 from 160's did the trick.

Not to metion the supension new 412's and progreessive springs and the ride is so different no more bottoming out with Brett on the back.

Lynn, made over $1,500 in the tag sale, I think a set of Speciality Spares are in my future.
