Ok, this is like the shortest notice you'll ever get for a ride event. But this wasn't going to be a ride event, just coffee and lunch and it has grown into a "presence" of looks like about five guys just to sit down and meet and have lunch in Hinkley, Minnesota tomorrow, Saturday the 19th of May. If you have a mind for a last minute spontaneous impulsive ride to meet some of the members from the site and you are in the area, drive on up. Crew from Cities is motivating from White Bear Lake at 0800 with a stop at Dennis Kirk in Rush City. Scheduled to meet at Tobies in Hinkley at 10:00. Contact "Loco" from the site if you want to connect. Plans are nice, but this was not one of those and there have been a number that have been throwing their name in the hat at the last minute so I thought I would throw it out here too. eddy

Good idea eddy - I think I'll be there... You might want to pack a sweatshirt and a t-shirt...looks like the Lake Superior forecast is a low of 40 and as you go south, a high in the 80's.....gotta love it. If you're from the area - post even if you can't make it tomorrow, we got more plans for the future. Also - there's a great Triumph ride leaving out of Ham Lake, MN on Sunday..... See ya. Jeff

OK so I am the first to check in. TALK about extremes! I won't wreck the story and pictures to follow from the others checking in. But our Upper Midwest ride was really great. We had six guys show up for a last minute BA.COM Super Mini Rally! When I left Duluth it was 42 degrees. When we arrived at our destination...it was 80+ degrees! Our guys hailed from three States and after a lunch and yaking we headed east into Wisconsin. Not a half mile after we headed north and the other guys headed south, it dropped 10 degrees. By the time I got to my destination in Duluth, it was 35 degrees! OK Boys the rest is up to you. It was really nice meeting each of you. One fact in the biking world I have found to be true. When you meet Harley guys, it could go either direction nice guys...jerks. Every Triumph guy I have met...ok I can think of one (but he just thought the Rocket was ugly) have been great people and the guys from the site I met today were all top shelf, and a blast to hang around. Thanks for a great morning...let's get a Midwest Thing happening before the end of the year. eddy -- Those are what WE call bugs on the screen!

No camera, no pics; but had a great time meeting 5 good guys, found Tom and I live a mile from each other! Our ride back south to TC was great, said goodbye to Larry at Osceola WI as he went south, we went across the St Croix back to Minnesota and on home. Only a 200 mile day for me, but managed to find a couple sprinkles, much warm sunshine, lots of bugs, and a few good Triumph friends! Heres to the riding season!!! Oh, low for the day, lost my cell phone.... I was due for a new one anyways!!!
Cheers, Mike

What a great ride....Like Eddy said...the Triumphs guys really got it together. The weather was just plain HOT for the crew heading south. The real suprise was Larry (ladisney) riding 5 hours to meet us, had some brunch, rode a while, then checked his voice mail and informed us "he hadn't told the wife" that he was going! LMAO! Larry - YOU ARE THE MAN! Hope the garage is comfy tonight! We will definately do this again soon. Truly a great bunch. Pat (in the photos) is a Triumph riding fanatic on his Daytona 675 and rode down with Eddy from the great white (cold!) north. We're glad he came and the rest of the folks you can see on BA.com...... Eddy (eddy1016)- Tom (elfwolf) - Pat - Larry (ladisney) - Mike (Mike) eddy - larry - mike - pat - jeff Had to have a shot of Larry with the Hinckley sign - he rode a long ways for this photo!

Hey Jeff,
In the last photo behind Larry and the Hinkley sign is the monolith(?) commemorating the "Great Hinkley Fire", Man talk about Triumph coincidence!

Geez, who's the fat guy in the Hawaiian shirt? 778 miles all told today. Oh my achin bootox. Great time guys!
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
