You can either use The_Dog's suggestion and put a load balancer on the circuit, or Soren's and replace your flasher unit with one designed for LED's. The flasher's the easiest, cleanest way to go about it. You can pick them up from any half decent auto parts store. Make sure you get the right connector - I think the info's in the tech vault.
You might also find that your turn signals get changed into hazard signals (eg: both sides flash if you signal left or right). If so you can remove the turn signal bulb from the console as a short term measure, and add in a couple of diodes as a permanent fix. You can even change that globe to a (much brighter) LED with the diodes as well and be able to see it in daylight!
