All our bikes have some level of "clunk" when shifting into 1st. For me it is usually the worst when shifting into 1st gear, after the bike has been off for several days. This is what I do to help reduce this. Before starting the bike I put it into 2nd gear and with the clutch pulled in I roll the bike forward. At first you will notice some resistance, and then it will go away. Then I shift back to neutral and start the bike. By doing this you are releasing the clutch plates and allowing oil in between them.
