Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who's contributed to my first post. It's cleared up a few things for me, and answered a few other questions too - Echoance, It seems we must have similar taste as when I sat down with the dealer the spec I've put together included the long slash cut TOR's - your review was really helpful and said exactly what I wanted to hear. GinaS - I'll be honest I've never needed any convincing that mixing Scrumpy and Guiness is a bad idea, your head must have felt a little "tender" in the morning. The BarBQ - yes I would love to come along and will confirm shortly once I know whats happening with a few things. It would be great to meet up with some like minded people, and hopefully by August already know some of you a bit better! The dissagreement - I've spent a lot of time on different forums and they always flare up from time to time. It seems like a line has been drawn under it now. Which I'm pleased about as inbetween it all there is a lot of useful information for hopefully other newbies like myself too. I don't know the history of any of the posters and so I took the comment about insurance to be a good intensioned one, and the same poster has also had the good grace to pm an apology to me regarding the ensuing exchange of posts, which was appreciated. Don't panic I'm not leaving just yet.... I'm sure I'm going to have another whole host of questions for you soon! Cheers, JC

I wasn't saying that John was wrong. Just there's ways to go about saying what he was trying to say.
And for the record....the Dog has sent me a PM apology for the ranting that happened. I did send him a literary tirade that one of the youngest members on here is telling you older ones to act your age... and he even had the grace to come back after. Nicely too.
OK, I'm not known for tact, especially after some wine (I did find the bottom not long after) but I stand by what I said. Even the morning after. Just may have worded it slightly differently, but the meaning would have been just the same.

Rough cider..... alcoholic apple juice.
Mixed? Are you just bonkers, or like feeling like a overcooked pasta noodle the next morning?
Each great on their own, but mixed....

Are you always so forceful, Gina???!!! *shudders excitedly*
Only after a drink or two... maybe I should just give in now...having just opened another bottle of the same wine I was drinking yesterday...
But seriously...most northern English people speak their minds and have little tact. I'm just carrying on that tradition.

How do you think I eneded up snoozing in a car with a busted out window, trying to explain to Bobby that it really was my car but sure I'd be glad to spend a night snoozing in the drunk tank in Portsmouth Jail (yeah, your Portsmouth, not ours!) But hey, I got to share my joy the next morning when they put me in the watch station at the top of our sail (i was in a submarine docked in Portsmouth Naval Yard at the time being a good Ambassador to England and all!), and I emptied me guts all down the dockside side of the sail and the hull for all of the Royal Navy to see....(yes, I caught HOLY ****** for that!) It was still fun tho...

In my defense, weak as it might be, I had quite an assortment of ales, stouts AND scrumpy (not to mention some Haggis (although how good can Haggis be in southern England?!), before my less-than-glorious exit from England! And normally, I agree, I've NEVER had a true hangover (headche, throwing up, dry mouth, etc...) in Europe EXCEPT when I've FOOLISHLY drunk American beer over there. Even put away about 6 Maß (liters) of Pils in Munich and 3 or 4 Hefeweizen and was no worse for the wear the next morning, although I did have quite a thirst for some odd reason, and slept in a bit later than normal...
