If you want to mount the rear indicators on the fender struts I know you can buy those hollow M8 studs to let you do it, but does anyone know if you can them in an M10?

Just my opinion but the fasteners on the struts are stressed members on the bike itself. I wouldn't consider it.

I drilled out hole for the strut bolt and installed a set of silver bullets. I use the hollow bolts and haven't had any problems

you mean something like this? I htink it is safe as long as you use the far end of the strut bolt.

these all look great but i remember being behind some little crotch rocket at a light and wondering what the heck the little blinking thing was on his tail. If they're too small and close inboard they really don't get noticed.

I wonder if there is a law about the size or location of blinkers in the US anywhere. This is the first bike I ever owned that had any on it.

I know in Pennsylvania you don't need any turn signals, but I think I would rather have them for night riding. Too many cagers not paying attention.

The signals in Echoance's picture might be legal everywhere since they're mounted on what appears to be a 25 mm "stalk" that would extend them close to that 300mm requirement.

I think the strut mounted indicators really clean up the rear end. Kuryakyn make a kit for the HD softail that has hollowed out stauntions that act as bolts to the trim and as conduits for the wiring. I have'nt been bothered by the Police here in Perth...they're generally not to worried about old guys on cruisers, they're too busy worrying about 1%ers and transformers do stunt shows for speed cameras. As far as Safety goes...I'm more worried about knuckleheads seeing them more than figuring out which way i'm headed. These indicators are really and I mean really bright. Do it...
...yes, that is a single seat...no, I will not put the other seat on...yes, I am selfish...yes, you should buy your own bike
