I am new to your group and just wanted to say Hi all,
I just purchased my 2003 Triumph Speedmaster yesterday and it is even better than I expected it to be. What a beautiful and great bike, I am really awe stuck by it's looks.. I haven't been on any bike in almost 40
years so I had to muster up a little nerve to actually go out and get one. I remember wanting to own a Triumph way back in the day.
Well, I finaly went for it. The bike performs really good, it's me that needs a little fine tuning for now. But, it
won't take long at all. I was on it almost all day today and it was a real hoot. I had been looking for a Speedmaster for the last few months and one popped up at a local dealer and it was in really fine shape. I
can't wait to get back on it again tommorow. It already has the chrome brackets for saddle bags and I need to buy some, any suggestions? Triumph offers some but I think I may be able to do better as far as the price.

I really like your group already.

TC,
Bob

Welcome Bob. I've only had mine for a week today. I had only been away from motorcycles for about 4 years, and I am still thrilled to death with my purchase. She is so beautiful that I often go out into the garage and look at her. I don't think there is a motorcycle on the market with a nicer profile view than the Bonny. I have her on an LA Chock, so she sits upright in the garage, and when no one is looking, I go sit on her - I don't make engine noises though, but I have turned on the ignition and blown the horn.

Welcome Bob. It's kinda funny how us old guys want SpeedMasters. I think it's the hotrod look maybe. As for bags I have Leather Works Bags and really like them. I also have the Easy Brackets. This all was not cheap, but I thought I was only going to do it once.

Welcome Bob! A group of us will be gathering up on the Talimena Byway in September. You should really consider joining us! Where in OK are you located?

Obviously a man of taste. Mufflers and a rejet will do wonders for your bike. Cheapskate that I am I reccommend JCWhitney's, but that's just me. Welcome to the party!

The cheapest, and highest value, path is to wait until someone on the forum is selling what you need. Watch the classifieds.

Welcome aboard Bob. Where in OK. do you live? There are a couple of us in Tulsa and a few more in OKC area. I bought the Willy and Max condor bags. But after taking a trip I wouldn't recommend them. My first choice was Tourmaster Cruiser liner II bags. They are about $189 for the extra large. These are the ones I wished I would have bought. At the Ga. rally I saw several set of Saddleman bags. They looked nice but I think are a bit pricier. If you are going to go oever $450-500 dollars I would reccomend hard bags. Also I heard Leatherlyke now offers bags for our bikes. I believe they are around $499. They are lockable. Good luck and happy riding.

Thanks for the great welcome to your group.<zoo :-)> And Hi to the fellow Oklahomans. I live near Oklahoma City and just moved here from Tulsa about 2 months ago. I'm lucky because the owner before me added Bub pipes and rejet, Triumph summer shield, Kuryakyn Grips, and some other chrome goodies to her. The mechanic at the dealership told me that the previous owner was very good with the scheduled maintenance. I call her blondie.

TC,
Bob

2003 Speedmaster I won't rise to the occasion, but I'll slide over to it.

Fasteddysports.com has a good priced set of semi-metallic brake pads that really improve the brakes.

http://www.willieandmax.com/ has quality inexpensive saddlebags. They are NOT leather but look good and last and you don't have to worry about water getting on them.
