Has anybody tried the Givi A620 windscreen on their SM? Height and width look ideal for me, at 6' 2". Two concerns, tho...the windscreen may obscure the handlebar mounted front turn-signals and smoke color is the only windscreen option, and the windscreen fork mounts may not provide enough clearance from the fuel tank when the handlebars are fully turned in either direction. Too bad, because this looks like an excellent well-shaped screen.

I sent Givi an email to find out about the fork mounts, clearance, etc. I did find out that my local motorcycle supply shop can get me the A620 for $157 Canadian, incl shipping. I'll post any info I get from Givi.

Hi singring, here's Schelli from Germany. I have the A600 mounted on my tba. I fits perfect and does not bother handling at all. I attach some pictures to give you an idea how it looks like. greetings from Germany Schelli

Hi Juergen, thanks for the photo. I have a \ windvest which I am very happy with, but my main reason for purchasing it is that I already had the summer screen hardware to fit it. If I didn't have the hardware I reckon I may have taken a serious look at the Givi. It looks like a very well made screen that should do the business. Thanks again for the photo and now I'm going to email a mate of mine who's looking for a descent screen to buy, and let him know about the givi.

I've had a Givi 601 on my Speedmaster for over a year. Quality is tops. The 601 is 16.7x14.5 and the 620 looks to be 19.5x20. I had no problem mounting on the bars. The smoke color is not that dark. As for turn sig. clearance might be time to cut a piece of cardboard the size of the shield to get some idea as to the fit. I had to do a bit of adjusting to reduce the buffeting. Good luck, you wont be sorry going with the Givi. Mark

Thanks, Juergen, and everybody, for the pictures and comments. I have narrowed my choices to the Givi A605 (same as A600, but clear color is available in A605), or the A620. By my measurements, with the windscreen correctly positioned running parallel to the forks, the top of the A620 would line up to the tip of my nose...I'm 6' 2"...so, that would be my first choice, but the fork mounts seem to leave very little clearance before they would contact the fuel tank, when handlebars are fully turned. There would be enough clearance if the fork mounts can be lowered 4 inches below the triple tree. That is what I am trying to get Givi to confirm for me before I place an order. As far as the turn signals, I could relocate them onto the forks below the headlamp. If it looks like too much work, I'll just simply go for the A605, and try and adjusted it the best for my height.

I also have the 600 and highly recommend it. I have it more in line with the rake in the forks. Very sporty and looks like it was made for our bikes.

Same for me. I think mine is a 605 model, maybe because it is smoke instead of clear (not sure). I found having it raked back some gave less buffeting. If too upright, the air comes down on top of my helmet and rattles the marbles inside my head.

Hi Zmilin, I did already 100mph with it without any problems. I installed it a year ago and did not have to re-adjust it until today. Schelli

Juergen, what is your height, and where does the top of the A600 align with your face?

I got a response from TwistedThrottle.com. They said that the Givi A620 fork mount is too narrow for the 55mm diameter TBA/SM fork covers...buggernutz !! Too bad, because I had just figured out that the screen would not obscure the handlebar mounted front signal lights, and that the fork mounts could be move down the forks enough so that they would not touch the fuel tank.

I guess if you want the lower seat for it's own sake go for it but the general conclusion is that the summer screen is just evil. It gathers all the air from the near vicinity and channels it into your yap.
Scrunching down an inch or so won't help but you can get a larger replacement screen from clearview that will fit on that pretty hardware.

I got a phone call from Givi and the service tech said that the stock A620 fork clamp will fit up to a 50mm fork cover. Our fork covers are 55mm...the Givi tech said not a problem because you can get larger sizes of these clamps at most hardware stores for cheap...so he said the A620 should be fine for my bike. I also did a google search for the A620 and found a forum for Hyosung GV650 owners. There was one owner who installed the A620 on his bike. His posts also had pictures and the fork mount can be moved right down to the bottom triple tree, so it will not come into contact with our fuel tanks when handlebars are moved to the stops either way.I contacted him and he said the same thing as the Givi tech. His fork covers were massive at 70mm. He picked up 2 larger clamps at Home Depot for 70 cents each. BTW, He loves his Givi A620. So, I went ahead and ordered a Givi A620. When I get it, I'll take some before and after pictures, and post them on the thread I started. Here is the link to the Hyosung forum, scroll down to abelardoelias's first response, then follow what he says about mounting his A620, his pictures, and what he thinks of the windscreen http://s11.invisionfree.com/HyosungCruisersOz/index.php?showtopic=386&st=30

Any Problems with the install? Pictures?

If he had to order from the U.S. he probably hasn't gotten it yet. Give him another week or so.

I tried to order an A620, but they were not available from the Canadian distributor until the end of June. Also tried for an A660, the improved A600/A605 model, but again not available til end of June. Since I need a windscreen for an upcoming trip, I opted for an available A605 clear windscreen. I'll see how it works for me. If I find that it's not right, I'll sell it locally, then try to order the A620 when it's available. But, you know, I did like what I read about the new A660 on Givi's Italy site (thanks to the translation from a google search). The A660 looks to have a more rounder front, and more pronounced deflector lip at the top of the windscreen. I think I might prefer that model to the A620. I did find a good installation tutorial for the A620, that was posted by someone who mounted it on a Honda Hornet CB600F. There is a lot of good info there.
