I see what you mean. I just looked at my manual to see if I could make heads or tails out of it to help you. Having never changed front pads yet I can't tell you. Thats the one place manuals like Haynes are better. They usually show photos. I'll be working on Wendys exhaust tomorrow if I have time and you have had an answer yet I'll look.
