Dealer want $7,000 for this 2005 with 4200 miles. Any comments on the price? Any suggestions on negotiating? http://www.petescycle.com/new_vehicle_de...&pov=537006
He was fun while he lasted.

I want what that dealer is smoking. I just bought a 2007 TBA with 650 miles, off road shortie pipes, air eliminator kit, sissy bar, luggage rack, Tbags sissy bar storage bag, and better than new in that it just had its 500 mile service saving me the time and hassle. The bike was purchased new by the seller in January. I paid $7000. There are good deals everywhere on used bikes. The bike you give the URL is a fantastic deal - for the dealer!!

Here's an '02 in your area and the guy's willing to deal. Pretty close to the same mileage. '02 America$7K seems a little high to me. The "book" value means nothing to some people and a lot to others. The Nada "book" has the bike at $5965 on the high end, where the Kelly Retail is about $100 less. Add another $300 when you halve the cost of the chrome apparent in the photo. I'd offer him $6500 out the door (less tax of course) and insist on a full year of warranty. Show him you're ready to pay up front. If he laughs at you, deal with guy selling the '02. Looks like lots of neat stuff on the '02 and should be viewable from your location. I'm assuming you're somewhere in Murderland. Just my .02 and I'm sure you'll hear another story from others. Good Luck, Tom

I don't believe it's unusual for a dealer to start high. He can always come down, but he can't go back up. It's only an asking price.

The picture looks like it has chrome footrests, cam cover, and sprocket cover, and short backrest. But, it also looks like the AI is still in so I assume the exhausts and everything else is stock.
My guess is you could get a similar bike with exhaust and normal mods already done with the chrome and more extras for less. I wish my bike was worth more used but all the extras don't seem to carry any weight. You could easily spend another $500. for new exhausts, re-jetting, AI removal, etc.
I agree with Charlie, I'd offer 6K and see what they say.
