You probably wouldn't need much luggage space for a weekend trip but I would definitely get a rain suit. I am going to try a get an Airhawk seat pad before September. I had an airpad when I lived in CO many years ago for my old Yamaha 750 and it worked pretty well. The Airhawk is better and fits a cruiser seat better. I have looked at them but haven't been able to get one yet. Angelis took his stock seat to a custom seat place and had it bulked up for touring. Some folks here replace the seat with a Corbin or Triumph touring saddle. Unfortunately my yearly bounus comes two weeks after this rally.  You need to make your reservations and come,Bob. It'll be be fun!!!

Paul, Hey sounds good to me. I think I'll call for reservations....Could you pm me their phone number? I looked at those Airhawk seat pads and they are nice. My rear may have to just rough it or, I might get me a cheap faux sheepskin or beaded pad. I sure hope I don't get that "monkey butt" that I've heard about...It doesn't sound very cool.  I am getting a little stretched in the wallet with purchasing the saddle bags, various accesories, etc. etc. but it is fun adding stuff.  Bob

If we have the time we should ride to Hot Springs and take highway 7 north to Harrison.That is one of the best roads to ride in Arkansas no traffic and plenty of twisties....

With all this rain I haven't been on my bike in days! I need a fix to get me through!  We need another local bike night so we can at least talk about the trip. Maybe Levi will even show up for this one.\ I looked at Hwy 7 on the map. It would be quite a trek to Harison, but the road looked good. I think a ride to mount magazine would be fun too. There are just so many great roads up there.

The road north out of Y-City towards Fort Smith isnt that great, but heading east towards MT Ida is a very fun ride ,I have been down all those roads, but 88b out of Mena is kinda boring,more traffic and not many twisties. But we can ride whatever we end up planning,anyways if we wanna ride to Hot Springs theres a great steak house called ( Coys)we eat there everytime we pass through...Just wanted to put out some things to think about...

For anyone venturing that far north of the motel - you gotta check out Hwy 123 north of Lamar....outstanding road. I don't think we even saw another car and the views are incredible.....

Tmax - You aren't crazy, I love those things too! Have you ridden one? My buddy has a T100 and I really like that bike. It sounds just like his '70 Tiger, and handles even better than our bikes do. The "Creamsicle" used to be my favorite, but then the black and red came out...

We're trying to train that out of him, but it doesn't seem to be working. That reminds me I need to pack his shock collar.....

Terry,
I really love the standard bonnie line. Over on triumphrat.net there is a guy that bought a totaled America and a Thruxton frame. He built a really cool AmeriThrux. The biggest dificulty he ran into was with the wiring harness. Apparently the harness for the standards and our bikes are different, so you would have to get creative with the wiring.

No Levi! That's the sad part, I haven't test rode one. I think I need to..., cause it may change my mind. At the dealer I rode an America and kept looking over at the standard so the guy goes over a starts it up twist's out a few rev's and I was decided at that momment "no 360 for me" You see it's the sound thing! It really throw's me off (personally) The 270 sounds completly different (Cool) sounding if you will? There's something very magical when sound and looks come together.
