I'm about to buy an America. Anyone have experience with dealers in the Frederick, MD area? Also, it might be a good thread if people were to rate their dealers.
He was fun while he lasted.

NO!
My dealer in Wigan UK is fantastic, and is even picking my bike up for me and transporting it back to the factory for checks on the front disc/rotor....

Winchester Motorsports, 55 miles from your location. Sales department Parts department Service department Keep in mind you can get the bike serviced at a location nearer to you (if one exists) and your uncomfortable doing the work yourself.

My dealer...please don't make me write about them... We'd be here all day otherwise... Really it depends on whether my bike is working or not. Or whether I'm riding a Thruxton or not. If I'm on a Thruxton, my dealer is crap....

03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel...
06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel...
09 America - It's very blue....

Before you do any deal on a Triumph, go by and talk with Kasey at Clinton Cycles in Southern Maryland.

I got my 02 Bonneville America from Frederick. I have nothing bad to say about them , but they are a small dealer with little to offer. not bad service . I have bought my last 3 triumphs from Clinton Cycles. there service dept. is one of the best and Kasey is a good guy , for a salesman Pete

A slight aside here... I've put in several hours of reading in this forum and I've not seen any talk about cost, specifically, what people have paid for their bikes. I've bought new and used cars, and have never paid list or asking price. I'm interested in a new America. How much, if any, will a dealer go down from list? Or, is this a taboo subject in here? If it's ok to discuss, then perhaps a new thread should be started? Thanks.

My dealer didn't seem to be much in a mood for discounting anything but '06 leftovers. There are incredible deals around for very low mileage, well equipped bikes. For example, I paid $7000 for a '07 Bonny, two-tone paint, off road shorty exhaust, air elimination kit, sissy bar with luggage rack, all OEM, dealer installed equipment, and T bag. It had 675 miles (purchased new by an employee of a Triumph dealer less than 4 months ago), and it was just fresh from its 500 mile service, which to me made it better than new. The primary part of the break-in was accomplished, and it saved me the hassle of going in for the 500 mile service.

my 04 Speedmaster in 05 with 700 miles on it was $5,000 with pipes and a year warrenty plus a few extras thrown in I wanted.
Wendys 04 America with windshield and driving lights was about $5,500 had 1,000 miles on it and 8 mo. warrenty left. Bought it in early 06 maybe march.

I live in the Frederick area and do business with frederick town triumph. They havnt done anything to say anything negative about them but they are a small dealer and I believe they are somewhat limeted to there inventory.I purchased at winchester motorsports. Good guys over there. They had the price and the color, but that was in january, an 03 in 04. Clinton is another source if you dont mind 495. Fredericktown is still jumping through hoops with the county to demolish and rebuild bigger and better. Yep, the BBQ truck will have to park across the street, next to the harley dealer.
