Got my 07 S/M in March 2 weeks later the front tyre was flat.I sprayed the front wheel and tyre with soapie water, Guess what no bubbles to cut a long story short I took it back to the dealer and they found the rim was leaking air through the mag rim up into one of the spokes(they are hollow). They're getting me a new rim.YAY! but its three weeks away. DOH!

Can´t they put a tube in it until you get the new wheel?

Sounds like the wheel has a casting fault or even a crack in it, I would not be to keen to ride it like that for fear of total failure. Dealer probably wouldn't want to be liable either. It would be nice if he could give you a wheel from another 07 if he had one in stock.

One of the reason I bought my 07 America ( Different wheels) was there is a bit of history of spokes snapping. Hopefully the wheel you have is an isolated incident.

Can't they pull one of an in stock bike and plop it on yours? that would be the nice thing to do.

I have never heard or read a post about spokes snapping on our bikes. Where did you read about it?

There has been quite a few reports of broken spokes on standard Bonnevilles here in the UK and I do remember seeing some reported on this site (some time ago)

Wire spokes sometimes break, but it's not near the disaster as when a spoke breaks on a cast wheel. In the case of the one bleeding the tire down, chances are it's not really broken, but just a porous casting. That happens and is often really difficult to detect.

My spoke broke....but that's cos someone didn't see me....so they got in my way. So I hit them. And not with my fist....though I wish I had now.

Maybe that's what you saw.

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....
